  | Special Interest Groups - Shoot SIGHosted by:Bill Melms Sunday, April 16th, is Shoot SIG day, where you join the Mensa militia for a roaring good day in the country. Meet at the usual place, 1 pm, and car pool from there. Last month I was returning from a body bruising week of sking out west on Shoot SIG day. Just as well. The boys tell me it was raining here, therefore no Shoot SIG. The month before we were frozen out, and this month the 'what do they know?' forecast is for us to be broiled, with temperature something over 90. Oh well, we're Texans; we're used to it. There is a nice shade tree on the pistol range that will keep things comfortable enough. Still, you might want to bring some water. Bring your hardware or borrow ours! Anything that goes 'boom!' is OK. Handguns, rifles, shotguns, submachine guns, potato guns... We now have a long distance range, so if you need to sight the deer rifle in for the season, can do. You can use the steel targets there, or bring your own paper ones. Phone books make good pistol targets! And if you want to sacrifice your rubber ducky, you can float him in the pond. No glass, of course. Meet us at the same ol' place [the old Same place] in south Fort Worth at 1 p.m. Sunday, and carpool from there to the range. RSVP to me, tbil@yahoo.com. If I know you are coming, we'll wait 5 minutes for you. Otherwise, we are out of there on time. The steel targets make sunglasses or other eye protection mandatory. You'll probably want ear protection too. Flak jackets and chicken plates optional... Limited instruction available from our limited instructors who will teach you the art of not hitting what you don't want to shoot, and such things as
Want to buy, sell, or trade? Which one? This is a good place for it! People bring all sorts of items for sale. We’ve got a beautifully sporterized 8mm Mauser for sale, very reasonable. Also a 1912-era Remington pump .22 gallery rifle and a 'loaded' SKS, and lots of other stuff. Tires, 10 oz silver ingot, whatever. If you need a concealed handgun license, Jack can take care of you. |
